Ferre Reggers is a Belgian opposite who plays for Sir Susa Scai Perugia and the Belgium men’s national volleyball team. Born on July 18, 2003, he progressed from his hometown volleyball environment near Brussels through Belgium’s youth system, Greenyard Maaseik and three seasons with Allianz Milano before joining Perugia for 2026/27. The Italian club lists him as its No. 7 opposite, while Belgium uses him in No. 2.
Reggers has already built a substantial scoring record in both club and international volleyball despite being in his early twenties. He was MVP of the deciding match as Milano won the 2026 CEV Challenge Cup, finished second in scoring during the 2026 VNL preliminary phase with 268 points, and helped Belgium reach the quarterfinals of both the 2025 FIVB Men’s World Championship and the 2026 European Championship. His combination of height, jump, speed and a large attacking workload has made him one of the central scorers in Belgium’s current generation.

Early Life & Volleyball Beginnings
Reggers began playing volleyball unusually young. In a 2023 Volleyball World interview, he recalled first touching a volleyball when he was around four or five years old after seeing friends playing in a gym. Unlike many professional players who grew up in volleyball families, Reggers said his introduction to the sport did not come through parents who had played at a high level. He simply saw the game, wanted to join and kept playing.
His first club environment was in Lubbeek, close to Brussels. Reggers stayed in regular school and played for his hometown club until he was 15. He then moved into a volleyball-focused school environment in Brussels, where training became a much larger part of his daily routine. After two years there, he joined Greenyard Maaseik, one of Belgium’s established top-level clubs.
National-team development ran alongside that progression. Reggers entered Belgium’s youth selections in his mid-teens and reached the senior setup while still only 17 or 18. By then, his youth performances were already showing the scoring profile that would define his senior career. Belgium won bronze at the 2020 CEV U20 European Championship, where Reggers was selected as the tournament’s Dream Team opposite. At the 2021 FIVB Boys’ U19 World Championship, he finished as the overall leading scorer with 158 points in eight matches, including 131 winning attacks.
Club Career
Reggers’ transition from Belgian development volleyball to the senior professional game took him through Greenyard Maaseik. He joined the club for the 2021/22 season after his period at Topsportschool Vilvoorde and spent two seasons with Maaseik before moving abroad. CEV competition records place him with the club in the 2022 and 2023 European campaigns.
The major change came in 2023, when Reggers signed for Allianz Milano. It was his first club move outside Belgium and placed him in the Italian SuperLega, one of the most demanding domestic competitions in men’s volleyball. At the time, Reggers described the transfer as an opportunity to test himself at a higher level and continue developing under Roberto Piazza.
He quickly became more than a developmental signing. Across three seasons, Milano increasingly relied on Reggers as a primary scorer from position two. By the end of his spell with the club, his volume of production had become one of the clearest statistical markers of his progress.
When Perugia announced his arrival in June 2026, the club credited Reggers with 1,386 points across 83 Italian league regular-season and playoff matches during his three seasons with Milano. That total included 1,192 winning attacks, 99 blocks and 95 aces, with an average of 4.47 points per set.
His final SuperLega season with Milano reinforced that scoring role. In 2025/26, Reggers produced 595 points in 30 matches, including 509 attack points, 37 blocks and 49 aces.
The season also delivered his first major European club trophy. Allianz Milano won the 2026 CEV Challenge Cup after defeating Lindemans Aalst in both legs of the final. Reggers scored 18 points in the 3–0 second-leg victory at the Allianz Cloud and received the match MVP award as Milano completed the title run.
That campaign became the closing chapter of his Milano period. In Perugia’s official June 2026 announcement, Reggers described the transfer as an honor and spoke about having dreamed as a child of playing both for his national team and for a club such as Perugia. The move kept him in SuperLega while placing him in a roster built to compete for domestic and international trophies.

National Team Career
Reggers’ international development began well before his senior club career was established. Belgium’s bronze medal at the 2020 CEV U20 European Championship came with Reggers selected as the tournament’s Dream Team opposite. A year later, he produced an even more striking individual scoring result at the 2021 FIVB Boys’ U19 World Championship, finishing first among all players with 158 points in eight matches.
By 2021, Reggers was already appearing with Belgium’s senior team. CEV competition records list him in Belgium’s European Golden League and EuroVolley squads that year, beginning a transition from youth standout to regular senior international.
His role continued to expand as Belgium developed a younger core around experienced players such as Sam Deroo. At the 2024 Volleyball Challenger Cup in China, Reggers carried a major share of the attacking workload. He scored 31 points in Belgium’s five-set semifinal comeback against Ukraine and completed the tournament with 67 points, the highest total of any player. Belgium finished second after losing the final to hosts China.
The 2025 FIVB Men’s World Championship provided another major step. Reggers led all players in scoring after the pool stage with 73 points from Belgium’s first three matches. His 31-point performance against defending world champions Italy — 27 attacks, two blocks and two aces — was central to Belgium’s five-set victory.
Belgium then swept Finland in the round of 16 to reach the World Championship quarterfinals for the first time in 55 years. Reggers led the match with 20 points. Italy won the quarterfinal rematch, but Reggers completed the tournament with 106 points, tying Patrik Indra for the second-highest total behind Aleksandar Nikolov.
His scoring load remained exceptionally high during the 2026 Volleyball Nations League. Reggers accumulated 268 points during the preliminary phase, consisting of 246 attack points, nine blocks and 13 aces. Only Aleksandar Nikolov scored more during that phase, leaving Reggers second in total scoring and second in successful attacks.
The individual match totals showed how heavily Belgium could lean on him. Reggers scored 33 points against Poland on June 24 and followed that with 38 against China a day later, including 36 attack points.
Belgium carried its progress into EuroVolley 2026. The Red Dragons won Pool C in Tampere before defeating Czechia 3–1 in the round of 16. Reggers led all scorers with 24 points, including 18 attacks, four blocks and two aces, as Belgium reached its first European Championship quarterfinal since 2017.
Slovenia stopped Belgium in the quarterfinals with a 3–1 victory in Turin on September 23. Reggers nevertheless finished as the match’s leading scorer with 23 points, including 22 winning attacks.
Playing Style & Strengths
Reggers is primarily a scoring opposite, and his statistical profile reflects the volume of responsibility associated with that role. During the 2026 VNL preliminary phase, 246 of his 268 points came in attack. Across three Italian league seasons with Milano, he accumulated 1,192 winning attacks alongside 99 blocks and 95 aces.
His value is especially clear when a team needs a repeatable high-ball scoring option from the right side. Reggers can handle a large number of attempts without relying on only one attacking pattern, giving his setters an outlet when reception is imperfect or a rally moves away from the ideal offensive structure.
His physical profile combines height with a high attack contact point. Topvolley Belgium lists an attack reach of 353 cm, and Reggers has identified his jumping ability, speed and explosiveness as important parts of his game. After signing for Perugia, he also described his ability to contact the ball cleanly and cut attacks sharply across the diagonal as one of his strengths.
There is an additional element to his development that is less typical for a high-volume opposite. Reggers spent part of his younger career working as an outside hitter and trained in reception before becoming established in position two. That background gives him experience in skills that are not always central to the modern opposite’s normal workload.
Serving has also become a meaningful source of direct points. Reggers recorded 49 aces during the 2025/26 SuperLega season and 95 across his three Italian league seasons with Milano. He has still identified serving as an area where he wants to improve, leaving room for further development beyond an attacking game that is already carrying a significant scoring burden.

Personal Life & Education
Volleyball has occupied a large part of Reggers’ life since childhood, but he has also spoken publicly about the importance of maintaining options beyond professional sport. In his 2023 Volleyball World interview, he explained that he had temporarily stopped studying because combining education with the demands of his playing schedule had become difficult. He nevertheless intended to return to his studies, pointing to the uncertainty an injury can create in a sporting career.
The same interview offered insight into how he approaches learning as a player. Reggers said he did not have one favorite athlete whose game he tried to copy. Instead, he preferred to learn different things from different elite players and use those observations to develop his own game.
That approach fits his own pathway. Reggers moved through different developmental environments, trained skills associated with outside hitters before settling at opposite and reached the senior national team at a young age. His career has therefore combined early specialization in elite volleyball with a willingness to keep adding technical elements rather than defining himself around one model player.
Where Is Ferre Reggers Playing Now?
Ferre Reggers is with Sir Susa Scai Perugia for the 2026/27 season. Perugia officially announced his arrival on June 11, 2026, after his three-year spell with Allianz Milano, and the club’s current player profile lists him as opposite No. 7.
The transfer represents a significant new stage in his Italian career. Reggers moved from a Milano team that increasingly depended on him as a primary scorer to a Perugia roster constructed to challenge across the SuperLega and international competitions. The club introduced him as part of the attacking diagonal with captain and setter Simone Giannelli.
His move followed a 2025/26 season in which he scored 595 SuperLega points and won the CEV Challenge Cup with Milano. He then returned to international duty with Belgium, producing 268 points during the VNL preliminary phase and helping the Red Dragons reach the EuroVolley quarterfinals in September.
Belgium’s 3–1 quarterfinal loss to Slovenia on September 23 closed his EuroVolley run, with Reggers scoring a match-high 23 points. His attention now shifts to his first competitive season with Perugia.
