How Paris 2024 Turned Pool Form into Olympic Medals
The Olympic pool table is important for qualification and quarterfinal seeding, but it does not determine the final placement. Italy and Slovenia both completed perfect 3–0 men’s pool campaigns, while the United States also went unbeaten, yet France emerged from the knockout phase as champion.
On the women’s side, Italy and Brazil both finished pool play 3–0. Italy carried that form through the knockout rounds and won gold, while Brazil recovered from a semifinal loss to take bronze.
VolleyBond therefore keeps the final Olympic rank in the first column while P / W / L / PTS preserve each team’s preliminary-phase record.
